How Can We Support You?

With the recent media attention on Trisomy 13 and Trisomy 18 from the storyline in Eastenders, we know that this may bring up a range of emotions for you. At SOFT UK, we are here to support you, no matter how recent your experience is.

We have a number of ways in which you can get support from us:

Speak with a support volunteer:

The SOFT UK support line provides a safe, confidential place for anyone whose pregnancy or child is affected by Edwards’ syndrome (also called Trisomy 18) or Patau’s syndrome (also called Trisomy 13). Whether your experience is recent or happened long ago, we aim to support you for as long as you need us.

We also support extended family members and friends.

0300 102 7638

The support line is free or low cost to call (depending on your telephone provider).

The support team can also be contacted on:

Facebook Groups:

SOFT FAMILIES Facebook group enables SOFT UK members to connect with each other online.

We also have a number of other Facebook groups that are focused on a smaller area of your Trisomy journey. They are:

SOFT UK - Support For Families Ending a Pregnancy

SOFT UK – Bereaved Parents Support Group

SOFT UK - Support For Dads

Face to Face Events:

We also host family days throughout the year which offer a chance for people to come together and meet each other face to face. The next family day will take place in May. Details can be found here: https://www.soft.org.uk/new-page
