Working With Eastenders

We know many of you have questions about SOFT UK’s involvement with the Eastenders storyline.

Their story was decided and written before we were contacted, so we had no say over the direction that this particular experience went. However, we were given the opportunity to help shape this portrayal in the most accurate, and sensitive way possible, helping to avoid some of the common misconceptions that can occur in media.

Although the Eastenders plot is not representative of everyone’s story, it does capture the experience many families will face, and the heartbreaking decisions laid out before them.

Everyone’s story is unique, and one of our main missions at SOFT UK is to help create a platform to share as many of these as possible, giving those facing a diagnosis of Trisomy 13 or Trisomy 18, a range of different experiences to draw from. If you have a story to share, then please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us.
